VARDENIA: The First Thirty Days

Yesterday, you had an opinion. Today, you have a country.

Four months ago, the war ended.

Vardenia survived. Barely.

Bridges are still down. Parts of the power grid remain damaged. Unemployment is high, the treasury is strained, corruption survived the war perfectly well, and the National Assembly agrees on almost nothing.

And somehow, you are now President.

You play as Marek Varen, an inexperienced reformer who spent years believing Vardenia could simply be governed better.

Now you have thirty days to discover what “better” actually costs.

Rebuild a province and another asks why it was ignored. Investigate a corrupt official and discover that removing him may cripple the institution he runs. Promise veterans more support while your Finance Minister quietly reminds you that the money does not exist. Push a reform through parliament and find out what your coalition expects in return.

There are no GOOD CHOICE +10 buttons.

There is no political mana.

There is no perfect government.

You have a country of 9.4 million people, twelve provinces, a fractured parliament, exhausted institutions and considerably more power than you had yesterday.

The First Thirty Days

This is an early public playtest built around the first month of Marek Varen’s presidency.

* Govern twelve distinct provinces through multiple national map modes

* Manage the treasury, reconstruction, infrastructure, energy and employment

* Negotiate legislation with a 200-seat National Assembly

* Work with—or against—ministers, political blocs and institutions

* Investigate corruption without accidentally dismantling the state

* Navigate foreign affairs and the fragile post-war peace

* Watch the press interpret your decisions

* Deal with consequences that may appear days after the decision that caused them

* Reach Day 30 and receive a report showing the Vardenia your presidency has created

* Start again and discover how differently thirty days can unfold

VARDENIA is deliberately a deep political strategy game. You are not expected to understand the entire government on your first morning. Systems are introduced as they become relevant, and the Field Guide is there when the Republic inevitably becomes confusing.

This is a public playtest. Balance, content and systems will continue to evolve based on player feedback.
